Electric mirror internals?

Just bought a Primera estate as a family run around until mid next year. Bit of a shed externally but nice inside and mechanically sound, so its all good.

Anyway, the drivers side mirror doesn't adjust electrically. The motors go and work fine but the mirror doesn't move.

I popped off the glass and had a look. Turns out someone has been in there in the past and removed the little knobs that move in and out to adjust the mirror. Why, I don't know. They can't fall out on their own so must have been removed.

I've looked on ebay for replacement mirrors but don't really want to spend £30-£40 on a whole mirror just to take out the little knobs and ruin a perfectly good mirror.

Does anyone know if, and indeed, where I can buy the little knobs from? I dont know what they are called so searching isn't much good.

Anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

Breakers wont split the part as it leaves them with a broken mirror. Tried that before with various parts.

As for dealer, did think of that but it's likely to be a part that can't be had on its own, and if it is, will probably cost more for one than a whole second hand mirror...

Check the mirror glass is the right one for the motorised adjustment, Ebay can be a good source for whole mirrors etc, especially on Barryable vehicles.

You can get the plastic Rose joints inside the headlights for my E39, even the BMW parts guy didn't know until I gave him a part no. Always worth asking as they may be part of a glass replacement kit.

Quite likely it's had a slap which has broken it, resulting in bits being removed by somebody trying to repair it.

£30-40 for a replacement mirror sounds like good value to me.

Primo - Breakers which let you go to their yard and remove the bits which you need. Best for jobs like that.
Secundo - so you haven't actually even called the dealer to check but you have taken the time to post the thread on PH?
