Just a quick question for those in the know on here. (sorry if this is the wrong place, please move if needed)

After a real misery of a month trying to sort my dying everyday Fiat for my other half, I got to thinking about ditching the run about and maybe getting a lease car or long term hire. Just want to know she has a good reliable car while I'm away working for months on end.

I currently work as a self employed wind turbine tech and was wondering how getting a lease car would work regarding tax? Could I claim the monthly costs as a justified expenditure? If I'm honest tax just confuses the crap out of me anyway!

I'm not a one man ltd company, just self employed if that helps any. Which would be the best option? Or am I just better off ditching the whole idea?

Thanks in advance.

If the car was for your OH and you weren't using it for work then I am pretty sure that it wouldn't be a legitimate business expense. Best person to ask would be your own accountant though if you want to be certain.

Good point, it would be for us both but maybe not in a buisness context.

Is this proveable by the tax man? Or am I just asking for a world of hurt?
