Worth Saving An Interesting Car? Opinions please :)

Hi all,

I have been offered a Mitsubishi Sigma V6 free of charge. The reason I think it would be worth saving is that it is/was one of their two press cars and still has the number plate 'H2 MMC' on it as in various press photos. (the plate is not included in the 'free car' deal, I would have to surrender that to the current owner once an MOT is obtained)

It has not been run for a while but seems in good nick, but I have no idea whether it is likely to turn into a money pit as I have absolutely no experience of mitsubishi's.

What do people reckon? Save it as it has some history, at a potentially very low cost to me, and end up with quite a nice cruiser to drive around. Or let the current owner do as they wish (I think he wanted to give it to a local garage who were interested in putting it back on the road).

What year is it? If it's a V6 I assume it's a late model?

Worth saving if it offers you cheap motoring but I would doubt there's any point from an historic point of view - hardly a seminal car in any way.

I did love the V6 wagons though.

A mate had one a few years back.Parts were horrifically expensive.£600 for two new wishbones I think it was.

these had electronic suspension, replacements if obtainable from a dealer will in excess of £1200.

If it can be recommisioned for pennies - great motor to waft about in
