Almost any of the MPV's fully loaded will leave you with restricted luggage room.

I had the misfortune of dealing with them when our previous car (BMW 525d E39 Touring) got rearended.
Like for Like hire car on the insurance, so Enterprise ask what we want… I say something of the same calibre. manual and needs a decent boot space. They offer a Land Rover Discovery; deliver some other huge 4x4 that was (a) ancient, (b) automatic. I got them to swap it and they then deliver a 2litre VW Passat saloon – covered in dirt, low on oil and all tyres below manufacturer minimum pressure. Then six months after it went back they sent me an invoice for windscreen damage, which I declined.

Think like for like means if you can squeese 4 people and a small bag in it, its a large car and therefore equal to a BMW/Volvo/Audi etc
err, no, its a corsa...
Make sure you specify something quite large, and you might be lucky.
make sure every bit of damage is listed, check tyres and fluids before collecting the car and windscreen.
do not accept if slight damage to any tyres - safety issue, I've been given two cars with massive eggs in the tyres and one with a big gauge out of the side of the tyre!
Also check with the engine running, we one got handed the keys to a Kia that sounded like they had forgotten to put the bearings on the Crankshaft and also had no oil or coolant in it.

Dealt with them when the Swift was rear-ended in April. Got a shiny 10-plate 1.6 Meriva as my courtesy car. slightly larger than the Swift but I was very happy with the service, they looked over it so much when I got back they failed to notice the 1/2 tank of petrol less than when I started
I've had silly changes to my advantage and to my disadvantage.
The first was when I worked in Frankfurt and we had an account with them, and their policy was to give us whatever was left in the car park/compound. Some times it was a VW Golf / Opel Astra, mostly it was what we'd ordered (VW Passat size), and on a couple of occassions it was a Carrera 4S or CLS55. Unfortunately you'd never get the Porsche or AMG when you had a long weekend of free time to use it, and it'd tend to be parked in the hotel car park for the weekend.
I've also had my request for a 2 litre diesel saloon turned into an 3 litre v6 petrol Espace - which whilst being very well spec'd - was not what I really needed for 1 person with 1 bag, and drank a lot more fuel doing the 3,000 miles I needed it for - and only being allowed to claim mileage for the diesel we'd booked.
Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do when you're promised one thing and turn up to another when they say that's all that's available.

I managed to fit myself and 3 passengers (all 6ft+) along with 3 tents and camping gear for a week, and lots of crates of beer in my Corsa. Then on another occasion 2 of us and 2 mattresses. You obviously weren't trying. err, no, its a corsa...
ETA: When I got my guaranteed hire car 'plus', it was a lower engine size and lower spec model, then it broke and the next one was even worse and hadn't been cleaned, other than that I found Enterprise to be reasonable.
