Looking through the adverts they appear to be on a hell of a wack for the cars they sell. £36k for an admittedly rather lovely Ferrari Mondial? £127 large for a 550 Barchetta?

I think you're paying for the convenience of buying in London a little here.

Back in 2000 I bought a 1993 Range Rover LSE converted by Overfinch in 1999 with a 5.7 litre chevy engine on fuel injection 330 bhp. Dearest vehicle I have ever ever run. Broke the autobox after 4 months. Replacement was £3500 plus fitting.. The £3500 was the only option to go for as the company would warranty the gearbox for a year. Knackered shocks every year. Ate brake pads every 10,000 miles and discs every 20,000 miles. It suffered from a lot of heat soak through the bulk head so I wrapped the exhaust headers. They melted, replacements where about £1000 from memory. Plus problems with electrical gremlins and the air suspension. Cobra alarm packed up so I had to have it removed. Did miss the remote start. You could blip the alarm and the car would start. But very often it would back fire through the injection system sending a ploom of smoke out of the k&n filter that would drift out from all three sides of the bonnet. Scared the cr*p out of quite a few people. Oh and 12 mpg.
In comparison at the time I bought it I really fancied a F150 Lightning but it was another 10K I did not have. After flogging the RR I bought a Lightning. In the 7 years of running one the total cost of maintenance would not equate to 1 year with the Overfinch. Plus 18 - 19mpg
