Private plate help

Hiya all, Im selling my Audi A4 which holds my private plate, Thing is Ive had enough of transfers and retentions so happy to just let this go. Can I take it off without going to retention as Im only going to let that expire anyway. Any advice folks?

Phone reg transfers and either sell it to them or have them sell it on your behalf.

Surely you just sell the car and the number goes to the new owner automatically. If he does not want the number then he will have the hassle of changing to a new "conventional" number, not you.

I'll handle the paperwork and fees if you let me have the plate for nothing. What's the reg?

^ This - when you sell the car with the plate on it it's no longer your plate
