Company car question

Hopefully back at work in 2 weeks. A car will included in the package.
Choice appears to be a peugot 407 estate or a Mazda 6.

Not sure of spec as yet. Does anyone here have either of these?
Never driven them- going to look tomorrow.
Needs to be an estate for dog hauling/growing child.

Any opinions?

Mazda 6. Very underrated car! The new facelift version has some chassis updates which reputedly endow it with great road manners and handling.

Yes and no... I'd still rather have something I enjoyed driving more even if it costs a couple of quid. The 407 would send me to sleep.

They're both diesel repmobiles. They're all as good / bad / indifferent as each other.

My view on company cars these days is to pick the best compromise between equipment and tax.

I've had a Mazda 6 hire car for a while now, and to be honest, it's pretty good at being an anonymous daily driver.

Comfortable on long runs, reasonably economical (2.0D) and doesn't handle like a boat.

Don't know about that - but I've not driven the latest 6 or a 407 saloon - I have driven a 407 V6 diesel coupe, which was a really nice car.

Also, if you do huge mileages, how far the dealer is away, if like me it's a bloody treck to get the car serviced 4 times a year (I never get courtesey car)
