VW Passat TDi Xreg 70k any good?

Have been offered VW passat deisel as the new daily snotter. X reg, around 70k miles, unmarked.

Are these cars reliable? Have never owned VW before.

Trader looking for a bit under £2k.

Which 1.9? The 100, 130, etc? The 100 will be underpowered, the 130 is better.

Is "X" the facelift model? If so, it looks nicer than the non-facelift.

At 70k, the cambelt needs to have been done (it's due at 60k).

Other than that, me, I like them, but only if it's had the facelift...
