Identify this key fob?

It's an aftermarket remote key fob on a 1991 Excel - no idea what make it is, and more importantly how I go about changing the battery.



The hole on the middle of the bottom edge is deep, and I can't feel a screw head in there, but that might just be an accumulation of muck.

Anyone recognise it?

Ahh... further information..

There's a box in the car with 'HRH VERTRIEBS GMBH' written on it, and underneath that. 'SAFE 1-11 T', then 'KBA 9621'

Nothing turns up on Google that helps..

Had a very similar fob for my mr2 until about 3 weeks ago, was the same but square where yours is rectangle. (i.e. same molding for buttons and pattern).

On mine the hole when emptyed of 20 od years of crap turned out to be a green led that flashed when you pressed a button and you just levered it a part to change the battery.

I cannot remember the name but it looks remarkably like the one they used to advertise in Demon Tweeks and Max Power 15 years ago (I was too young to drive then and thought modified cars were cool (Yes i was sad! )

yep, got one of those on my car. i think the make is "GT 2"

to change the battery, go to the corner where the key ring goes on it and twist the key ring or a screwdriver and it pops open (the halves of the case. Inside is a nice corroded battery and a circuit board.The battery is aa/aaa style but smaller. halfords sell them, look by the cash desk.

that hole is where the LED shines through so you know pressing the button has done something. possibly it is full of crap and of course the battery has had it so it wont make it shine
