I staggered upon this hidden away in the Land Rover section of the site (as part of another thread) I've done a search and cannot find a mention of it elsewhere.
London - Cape Town in an 03 Range Rover.
Possible a re-post, but if you haven't read it, just a cracking read and deserves it's own thread. (Mods-Please leave it here where it deserves viewing capacity!)

That was a good read.
A couple of friends and me were going to do the same last year, but the hassle of paperwork and the costs of a carnet really stack up. We flew out to SA and bought a defender there instead and then spent 3 months doing 15,000km or so around Southern Africa.
Its amazing and one of the best things I have ever done in my life. Some of the extreme wilderness you come across is immense and at times you feel as if you are literally in the middle of nowhere with not a single sound in the air.
