Buying a personalised reg

Found a nice cheapo one that will suit my motor :-)

If I buy from DVLA who do I need to inform etc. and when could I stick the new plates on ?

i bought one from the dvla for my wife, had the paperwork sent through, soon as i got it, went to local dvla office with mot, insurance etc, they transfered it all over to new reg, had the plates made up that afternoon, was ready to go right away. i think i was in there about 15-20 minutes.....must have been a slow day!
