Maerati Quattroporte electrical problem

WWe have a Quattroporte which is seldom used that has developed an electrical problem in that the boot lights will not turn off, obviously this is an electrical problem, but was wondering if anybody else has experienced this found the route cause and an easy fix, other than taking the bulbs out.
