Hey folks, having a bit of a nightmare here. I sold my car recently and now the new owner is demanding half the money for getting the wheels refurb'd. The advert stated the wheels were scuffed, the new owner came to view the car, haggled down on cost as you do, and bought the car. Now it has came to my attention that they are not happy with the wheels and they are badly damaged saying i must pay at least half to get them repaired or take the car back? is it just me or am i right to so no to both these demands? i cant see how they think i should pay after i cleary stated they were scuffed. they said i should have pointed it out at time of sale? even though my advert clearly stated.
open to opinions but i feel im not in the wrong here at all?

You are under no obligation to pay him for anything (assuming you're a private seller and not a dealer).

Personally I'd tell him to fopen to opinions but i feel im not in the wrong here at all?
k off. But I'm in a bad mood.this is my point. they say i was dishonest by not showing them the damage, even though i had it listed on the advert before they chose to view the car where they picked up on its stone chips, i could understand if i hadnt listed it on the advert but i had.im annoyed they are even asking for half after 500 was knocked of the asking price.

Why do so many on hear have trouble with this??open to opinions but i feel im not in the wrong here at all?
If it was a private sale and they inspected before buy then that's that! Tell them to F off or you'll report them to the Police.
Is common sense lacking in this day and age, or has it always been like this??

It doent matter what you stated in the advert, you could have stated nothing about conditition in the advert and it still would not have mattered. The viewing is where the buyer checks the car's condition. yes private seller. they are scuffed but in no way damaged in need of repair as they put it. badly damaged and in need of repair in my books would be dented wheels leaking air or buckled spokes. all it is is cosmetic, there is scuffs on the paint through to the alloy, thats it.
cheers for the comments though people

that was my intention because i thought the situation was ludacris, but had to bite unfortunately when i recieved a 'youve ripped of the wrong people...' text. needless to say im now tempted to involve the police haha its just such a ludacris situation that i have to shake my head at in disbelief. I have replied basically saying should you wish to take it further contact a solicitor.
rediculous.
rediculous.

Just ignore him. rediculous.
He's probably realised the car is a bit too expensive for him, or just scamming.
If he continues bully-boy texting, tell him you'll consider further contact as harassment and get the Police involved.
Oh, and Ludacris is an American rapper. You mean Ludicrous.
