Value of a LPG E39 vs diesel E60

I have a 2000 530iA SE, top spec with sat nav etc, 172k, FBMWSH, recent decent LPG conversion, very good nic without needing anything doing for a while.

Been offered my Dad's 2005 55 530d M Sport. MINT! 73k, BMW service every 10k, not loads of options.

What would mine be worth, and what would a fair price be for the BMW slightly above trade, but without stinging me.

I'm hoping mine is worth 3k due to LPG and all the maintenance, condition etc, and the E60 worth circa 12k.

Thoughts?

The E60 does very little for me, personally I don't care that the E39 looks dated (in any form) , I would stick with it, especially if said E60 hasn't got a lot of options. I don't rate the interior of the E60 either.

I wouldn't expect the value of the e39 to be realistically much more than £2500.

I tend to agree with both comments. Despite LPG and really low running costs (11ppm) its still a high mileage, car with potential big bills around the corner...the E60 has not really overly appeals and is still expensive at 12k I reckon.

Think I will keep the E39 til 200k and hope it remains reliable over the next 15-18mths.

It'll last, its a good idea to keep it. Has it still got the original cooling system?

I keep looking for an excuse to change my billion-mile 530i Sport for a 335i M Sport.

I've not found one yet. I'm doomed to be stuck with this car for ever and ever because its just too good to sell it.

It has quite a bit of work in its time but no invoices for cooling systems or gearboxes...at 172k it is a bit of a worry!

I think I will keep driving it and cross fingers and replace anything if needbe!
