Scrote stealing bits from car

My car is parked on the road, unfortunately I don't have a drive to park it on and for 18 months I have expected it to get scratched or damaged.
Yesterday I noticed that the cover that covers the tow eye on the rear bumper is missing. The front one was still there so I removed it and there is no damage to the back bumper so all I can think is some bd thieving scrote has stolen it.
I phoned the local BMW dealer and they are only £6ish to replace but as they only come unpainted the big cost is getting it sprayed up.
I don't like the car having holes in the bumpers and I think if I replace them they will only get stolen again.
I suppose I could buy a few and replace them as they get stolen again or seal them in with silicon so they don't come out or get the guy that does paintwork for me to paint the bumper with them in.
Anyone else had this happen?

stter that mate. To be fair though, with BMWs it's usually the bigger stuff:- Side mouldings, mirrors, bumpers...

IIRC a few months back there was thread about a guy having bits taken off his Mondeo (ST220?). Maybe not that uncommon.

Had the bumper assembly stolen from my BMW 5-Series twice in a year.
Car was parked on a street in SW London.
Two grand insurance claim each time.

I recently had 2 wheel nuts from each wheel stolen while the car was parked up somewhere in Belfast! Why Why would someone want those, and while doing it makes my car less safe. They potentially could have been missing them for up to a week since I only noticed it when washing the car.

Probably should be thankful the car wasn't up on bricks instead.

There's loads of E90s with missing tow caps, are you sure it hasn't just fallen off? IIRC they aren't held in very tightly, or summat

I just checked my wheel nuts, still all there

I did think it might have dropped out but the front was quite difficult to remove so I couldn't see it somehow and I thought it could have popped out if the bumper had got nudged but there is no damage to the bumper, not a scratch.

Msport bumpers are very popular , my friend had his stolen and I jeep seeing the same car with a missing bumper every 3 months

I've lost an aerial in the past when parked on the road just down from my house. It just unscrews from the mount so was fairly easy for someone to nick. For a while I started unscrewing it's replacement and leaving it inside the car when the car wasn't right in front of the house but soon decided it was too much faff.

I rented a car for a work trip to UK last week. Parked overnight on the street in a South Wales valley town (probably a fundamental mistake), someone stole both number plates.
Apparently they're used as a disguise for their Saxo's when out stealing petrol.

When I lived in South London I used to regularly get bits nicked off my old golf - mirrors, radiator grill (twice), battery, and once they even cut the fuel lines underneath, presumably to drain the fuel for their bee-in-a-tin scooter...

I know someone who had the glass removed from the mirrors in his Corrado recently.

Nothing new about it - someone had the fuel line cut under their Astra back in about 1993 and they nicked all the petrol

Not just me then? Thats good to know as I was getting a complex. I've lost a wing mirror glass, all four wheel trims and the toe eye cover went last week and all off a bog standard Mondeo 1.8lx. I've had enough as I'm quite keen to upgrade to something a bit nicer/quicker so I've decided it's time to move to somewhere with off street parking.

Spray it yourself. Small parts like that are easily done well with a rattle can.

Good point I had sort of not thought about that!
It is Sparkling Graphite which being metallic might stretch my spray painting abilities but I think I might give it a go, there might even be a touch up stick in the glove box.
