Eststaes more stable ???

are estates more stable (or at least feel more stable) than their saloon or hatchback counterparts ?

I guess some models might have stiffer rear suspension which might help, but I don't see any reason why an estate would be inherently more stable than a saloon or hatchback.

yeah, i could have it wrong

i personally like my estates and have had a few like the galant, V70 T5's, passats, focus estate etc.. and I have always found they seem to impart an extra sense of stability

In BTCC Volvo raced their 850 estate without any difficulties. This was mainly for marketing reasons although they found the estate body with its long flat roof generated good downforce.
