If you spend so long in it - get the fecking thing fixed!

Had the misfortune to get a taxi to work this morning.
4 AM start - so a taxi turns up.
Knackered 53 plate Mondeo. Diesel engine like a bag of hammers, headlight out wierd noises from the suspension and dashboard and at speeds abvoe 60 it shook like a dog having a s
te.
The driver was surprisingly well mannered and appeared to be a resonable person.
He told me he spends on average 15-16 hours in the car a day - more than he spend at home.
Fair enough.
But if you spend that much time in your car, you'd think you'd get stuff fixed.
The headlight out - he didn't know about. But surely banging and grating from the back of the car a shake at motorway speeds and more shaking during braking would concern him.
It surprised me as most cabs from that firm are decent new VW/Skoda stock, all under 3 years old.
Its amazing what people will put up with behind the wheel.
