Selling a car help

Morning all

I have had my 2006 120d Sport up for sale for about a week now with PH & AT and getting next to no interest.I think I have pitched my price at £8399ono for a 67000 ml car about right so is it just a bad time to sell a higher value vehicle just now or am I too expensive?

Let's have a look at the ph advert? It could be anything mate. Down to rubbish light, not sounded over positive about your car, not gone into enough detail about every aspect.
I've just sold a 2001 A8 on eBay and due to the ad and the speil it made £5300!!! Marketing!!

Either:

Price is too high
Ad is not good enough
You are in a remote location
Plenty of similar / beter cars out there

My advice is make your ad superb. After that, time you are willing to wait and price you are willing to accept are the only variables left for you to play with.

Thanks all I would post a link to the ad but I did this before and the mods deleted it as it was unfair to the other members.I do understand this by the way and I am not trying to cause trouble.Here is the wording though.

I had my very competively priced 335i on PH and At for 3 weeks. Only interest was from a guy called Manuel, from Ireland who wanted me to pay me the full amount and ship it to poland (due to congestion in the Singapore seaport natch).

I nearly took him up on his kind offer.

Could be the time of year mate, cold weather had reminded people Christmas is coming etc etc.

Noticed that too; the last couple of sentences sound like a trade advert.

But otherwise people aren't interested in hearing about the 'brilliant this' and the 'brilliant that', they're mostly concerned about servicing, tyres, tax and test and the other variables that separate one car from another.

Best of luck with the sale though, hope you find a buyer soon!

All of this. I don't care about your opinion of the car. If I'm looking at the ad I've already decided that a 120d is what I want. I want to know facts - MOT, tax, when consumables were last replaced (tyres, brakes etc).

Also, tell me how many services, who by, when and what mileage.

I also want to know if there are any scratches, dents, marks on the bodywork and wheels. What condition is the interior in?

All the details that differ from one 'identical' car to the next.

No idea but presumably its priced appropriately for the competition? The quicker sale you need, the lower it needs to be.

Yeah thats fair comment I think its about right not too cheap and not too expensive.I will just take the advice given and write the best ad I can then sit and wait.

Sorry, but this sounds like something I'd hear from an Arfur Daley plot selling £500 snotters.

As said before, more facts less opinion. The ad is too confusing going from subject to subject.
I usually has 3 or 4 paragraphs. One about the model of the car, one about the exterior features plus anything wrong (if appropriate), one about interior including equipment then one about the service record plus any other info such as owners etc.
Try to cram too much into one big disorganised paragraph and people will just stop Reading.
Make the pictures as appealing as possible, nice and sunny if poss. One from each corner, one boot, one bonnet and a couple of inside!
