Car Advertising Legal?

I am thinking of buying a cheap 4x4 and putting sign boards on it.

This will be left in various places, including a local layby.

The car will have tax and MOT, can anyone stop me?

The council may get upset, but can they actually do anything about it?

I would like to leave it for a week in one place, but will move it everyday if needed.

Any thoughts or experience of doing this? Obviously the sign will be professionally made - there will also be a big sign on the rear.
