Tough choice. I'd have the merc, just.

Stingray for me too, much more of an event than the Merc for me as neither of them are likely to be the last word in handling finesse.

Gah it's like asking which if you children you don't want Gary Glitter to meet.

But I'll have the Pagoda to be different

Well to be fair, you should at least post a convertible.

It's a very, very tough call.
Stingray for looks and engine but I suspect the steering might be a little vague if the steering wheel I waggled once is any guide - so the Merc might win for the driving experience. Difficult to say without driving both but for now, the Corvette.

I could forgive the Vette it's handling shortcomings for its engine and looks smile Besides I am sure a few subtle mods would make the handling very acceptable

How odd, I saw a Stingray in silver a couple of days ago and it either had the same number plate or maybe the numbers and letters were reversed.

I thought at the time what a beautifully proportioned car it looked on the move.

Neither will be track warriors, both will be a bit wobbly.

So for the waft factor, the Merc.

Or option C - A Porsche from the same period.

If your idea of a track warrior is leaving the track backwards presumably. POrsches haven't always been paragons of handling you know.

Voted Stingray, but that is a seriously tough choice! (I nearly cried when I watched Con Air!) wink

I'm an american car fan so it would have to be the Corvette for me, though the SL is a lovely car yes

It will still be better than the other two. Let's be honest if you want a track day beast then a classic isn't really the way to go.

I own a '69 Porsche very similar to the one I posted so I'm a bit biased. The OP didn't give any reason for the random pairing either so offering up an alternative is valid I feel.

Closer than I thought - I voted Stingray, thought it would bowl over the Merc. Wouldn't complain either way to be fair!

I've checked a couple of times now - the Stingray started off with a big lead, but the Merc is putting in a good show

Merc everytime, surprised that so many voted 'vette. I've not driven the Merc, but the Stingway is bloody awful to drive.
I haven't driven either, nor did I notice the links on the OP til just now! Still, by pure image (er, imagine) and reputation alone, I'd rather have the Stingray.

Stingray all day long. I wouldn't care if it drove like a wet shoebox, it's just the bees IMHO.

On looks alone it just has to be the vette.
