How easy is it to re-use the enginge out of this?

Ads like these make it possible for someone to just buy the car (can probably get it alot closer to 10k) and re-use the engine. I think these are one of the greatest engines ever made and would love to see them in used in a lighter more agile car (and not by small companies charging 100s of thousands for their offering, but by a man in a shed).

But how likely is this ever to happen? I should think there is a lot of electronice jiggery pokery that needs to be done and might be too complicated for just oen man.

Are there any projects out there that use this engine?

GKD sportscars do things with bmw's, also MNR although they don't seem to have it listed on the website so it may be a newish thing for them but i've been there and seen them working on them, both of these could help to make it happen and not for 100's of thousands

I think the electronics puts it beyond man in a shed territory, all that CAN-bus shizzle will be an unbelievable ball ache to get working outside the car. It would have to be put on standalone management, and that will be easier said than done with the throttle-by-wire and variable valve gear on it. Nothing's impossible, it's probably just easier to use a different engine for that kind of power.

Just strip all the CANBUS electronics off and run it using a 3rd party ECU. I believe the car has throttle bodies as standard so it is as simple as that.... Clearly not, but it isn't beyond the man in a shed, probably still a bit pricey though!

I've heard they can be run on twin aftermarket ECU's speak to Vixpy I think he knows about them.

I'm sure you could use the engine, but it's still £15k.

£6k could probably get you a new crate engine making similar power if you opt for a V8.

I'm sure you could use the engine, but it's still £15k.

I understand that completely, but then satiating your steak craving with a burger is not as optimal as doing it with a stak

this crap analogy was just saying that it is that specific engine I absolutely love!
