Things that annoy/scare you when a passenger ?
Discussion
My wife doesnt react enough to stuff happening up ahead which makes me squirm.
No wipers on when I cant see.
Drivers that to talk, turn too look at you and still use hand gestures.
Labouring the engine in too high a gear.
Displaying exemplary clutch control holding the car on a hill, use the bloody handbrake.
Not pushing the button on the end of the handbrake so the ratchet grinds.

I have a mate who, when using a dual carriage way or motorway will 'drift' so he rides two lanes and then move over correctly to overtake, but then drift back again.
Previous to this he never used his rear view mirror, but would do a fairly good impression of an owl and look through the rear window.
Scared me so much I don;t get in a car if he is driving.

People that brake quite alot later than I do, not a fan of those.
The wipers thing is another, and also who don't seem to read whats happening ahead, just seem to leave their foot in until they're within skidding distance then suddenly use the brakes.
Not pressing the ratchet button annoys me and when people stop at traffic lights, take it out of gear and handbrake on.. Then when the lights change are slow to do this in reverse. I don't see why they need to do it everytime, I know its the correct way, but not always the most sensible.

I was just about to post this. People who brake late and on the corner, and excessively so. The end result is slowly coming out of the corner and hardly accelerating away. If they had got all the braking done before the corner, they wouldn't over react so much with the braking when they realise they're already on the corner and going faster than comfortable, and also exit the corner with a little more pace making better progress.Late braking, tailgating and late overtaking.
By late overtaking(my housemate is the master of this) I mean, on a motorway in let's say lane 2, lane 3 empty.
Slow moving car ahead in lane 2.
Driver accelerates strongly until 6 feet behind car then indicates right and pulls out into lane 3.
It'll catch him out one day.

People who brake late and on the corner, and excessively so.I've no idea why these idiots brake on a corner, do they have no idea on car control or anything. Sometimes I've gone into a corner at a speed thats more than safe, but have to brake mid corner because some idiot has also braked too much mid corner. Terrible.
The major road safety ones:
- People that drive too close to the car in front
- People that don't notice hazards or situations that could become hazards, or just fail to react to them
- People that drive so that others around them can't work out what we're going to do next
- non rev matched gearchanges
- dry steering
- car out of balance in a corner
- driving up to red lights or give way lines and then braking firmly - why not just back off earlier?!
Lack of anticipation is the main one. They're still accelerating, whilst I can see brake lights up ahead and am thinking "back off...back off...brake...brake..BRAKE!". Then they suddenly notice and have to brake, hard.
That and not changing gear until the engine practically stalls. Argh.

One of my mates drives everywhere in the middle lane (yes he's one of those people) it drives me nuts!! I'll mention it, he pulls into lane 1, next overtake - straight back to the middle bloody lane, I just don't get it!
Another mate used to not back off if the traffic was queued ahead and dive into the inside lane at the last minute at full speed. I always had the horrible thought he wasn't braking and when he moved watching through my fingers to see if someone in the slow queue had done the same move at 50mph less.
Another mate drives everywhere with the window open and the radio at full blast. On a trip round Scotland I had to buy a pair of gloves as my hands were constantly cold.

People who drive off before doing their seatbelt and then drive along swerving all over the road while they try to do it up while driving. Thus risking mine and their lives to save less than 3 seconds, more than one person has received some stern words from me for that idiocy.
I see this all the time and have never understood it.TommyBuoy said:

I have a mate who does the exact opposite. When he accelerates to pass the car in lane 1/2 he barrels up to the back of them at about half a lepton more than they're doing, and then suddenly and aggressively swerves around them.Previous to this he never used his rear view mirror, but would do a fairly good impression of an owl and look through the rear window.

Proper nauseating.
A mate of mine would ALWAYS bear down on a slower vehicle or obstacle before suddenly performing a massive last-second swerve to get round it (he would do this on a push bike as well as in a car.....).
He got away with it in his GTI, Preude Vtec and Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo but had a large FAIL when trying it in Disco. Result; massive speed wobble, eventual roll and a smack off the barriers on both sides of the motorway.
Basically driving like a cock + Chelsea tractor = near death experience.

Not doing this:

I am always scared when I dont have at least two pedals and one of those turny things
but my main annoyances with others driving:
Middle Laning (usually results in me saying "Oh look at Lane 1, isn't that pretty, all empty and everything"
flying up to speed limits/roundabouts/traffic lights, then reacting, instead of just easing off (assuming there not pushing it to make good progress)
Not Indicating/Not Cancelling Indicators
Parking
JUST f
kING REVERSE THE f
kING CAR
Not using headlights in poor weather (topic open about this)
Holding up other drivers
Missing Opportunities "could have gone then, or now, or now, or now, what are you waiting for? Oh My God, come on just pull out"
Bad Lane discipline round Roundabouts/gyratories
