My sister had a BMW 316 which the engine packed in on (details unknown as she's a girl obviously) and it was put into BMW to fix. In fairness to BMW, they did give her top book against an almost new MINI to resolve the matter though, saying they'd stick the 34000 mile 316 through the auctions.

Whether it was a good deal, I don't know. Anyway, point is she's happy, at least until the MINI breaks....

I've mentioned my issues in the past - also engine related. Hasn't broken down for a while now but is starting to rust. Not even 3 years old.
