may need an bigger car, dealer car swap??

suppose my one current labrador was very soon to become two and i needed a bigger car, probably an estate, maybe a skoda octavia vrs estate and i was to take my 2009 "09" 1.4 160 rising blue scirocco with leather and nav into a dealer and 8750 miles on the clock would the dealer be open to doing a straight swap on a nearly new car off the forcourt?

Also what value do you think they might put on the scirocco in such a deal?

just a thought at the min as we have been to look at another lab that needs rehomed tonight and i think the woman wants it.


i know webuyanyheap is for desperate people and im not desperate but they quoted 14500 for my car, given there not many up for sale i thought it might be worth a bit more to a dealer?

not an option, already got a vx220 and 3 cars is a bit over the top the vx is staying

too late the text for the 2 week trial of the other dog is sent!!!! 3 cars for me plus the womans is not an option 1) i am not made of money and 2)i dont have anywhere to park another car

Your best bet then, is probably to try and sell the scirocco privately as quick as you can and then get the bigger car that you need.

Any swap deal will be based on the trade value of your car, that will be the budget you have to work with. If the WBAC price is reasonably a accurate trade value (I haven't checked) that will be how much you will have to spend.

A swap with a dealer will always mean you will go backwards in value, I.E the difference between trade to retail. In my experience there are very few customers prepared to swallow this, and it very rarely happens.

my experience is cars in that sort of range dont sell privately as most people need finance, anyway not going to jump the gun yet, decided getting the new dog tomorrow night on a 2 week trial and will see how it goes, the boot in the scirocco is probably nearly big enough but the opening is very high.

i suppose that doesnt take into account 2.5k retails worth of leather and sat nav, which i suppose would bumpt it up a bit maybe?? (not that i would expect anywhere near 2.5k back)

Yep, sell privately. A bit more hassle but worth £2-3k so worth the effort.

This. I was selling a Z4M and got a 330d and 335i touring offered, a Range Rover and an Evo X (not an estate car but can't blame him for trying!)

They'll do the deal if it works for them. Octavia VRS's aren't flying out the showrooms (even though they're good car) but your Scirroco's a popular car.
Your best bet would be to find a dealer that has a Skoda and a VW dealer. The could give you an 18k VRS they paid 16 for and sell your Scirroco for 19 in the VW dealer.

Sell privately and pocket the difference but I would imagine a well speced rocco is prime retail stock so with abit of leg work you can probably get a decent dealer bid

17300 for one with metallic paint, food for thought that!!! anyone ever dealt with drive the deal?? what is there delivery time etc?

I suppose it depends how much the dogs have trashed the car. I wouldn't buy any car that's been dogged personally so that may affect the value.

Because of this discount, they are quoting 21 weeks delivery on new cars. Well it was that about 3 weeks ago. May be longer now. Because of the long wait, prices of nearly new Octavias have been creeping up. Have seen a 09 reg Octy Estate for £300 less than I could get a brand new 60 plate (or 11 plate by the time it arrived!)

I have only got one dog at the minute, he has been in the boot about 10 times with a boot liner and a dog guard, in short he hasnt trashed the car at all.
