The end of the Type R?
Discussion
I've just had a letter come through the letter box from my local Honda dealer containing a brochure for the current Civic Type R (FD2?). It's full of suggestions that this will be the last Type R, such as on the front cover it says, "the end is near", and inside, "the last UK Civic Type R will roll off the production line in October 2010. But it doesn't have to end here. We have a unique opportunity for you to own one of the last Type R models", "the end of an era is approaching", "the end of Type R production", and "the Type R is leaving".
I really like my Type R cars and have previously owned a EP3 and a DC2, it would be a great shame if they are ending UK sales of them, even if the current one isn't quite as pure as some would like, myself included.
Has anybody else heard anything or is it just a marketing ploy to shift the last of the old stock? Although I am not aware of a new model Civic being launched.

They could replace it with one of these

224Nm Torque, and 10,000 RPM, and very clean emissions too

although honda are likely to carry on with the Type R just a different engine that meets emissions.
