Ok its doing my head in, its been 2 weeks since my RS4 went and its doing my head in what to get.

I was happy, id decided on a Discovery 3, full spec 09 plate HSE black with 7 seats tinted glass and big wheels.

Then a pal put me off by saying "but its not a range rover"........... he right.

I find a TDV8 vogue SE in the Uk but the price is a little to much for me ( taking into account the import tax) but its a 70k car in spain. Cant find anything else unless i get no spec.

So i decide ill look at an X5. Cant find ANYTHING in the uk nothing amazeing out here for under 50k.

Decide back to the Discovery........... But its not a Range Rover .............

I relly am going round in circles here....... by the way i live in spain, cars here are stupid money, my RS4 2006 (fully loaded inc Ceramic brakes) sold for 55k !!!!!

Help me out, the Disco is top money by the way, well 35k (pounds) located in the UK.

Should i waite for the RangeRover to come along ?

I'd buy a Disco over a Range Rover.

Disco does everything a Range can do, and more, its less showy, I like that.

Who cares what anybody else thinks? Buy what you want, not what someone else tells you to drive. And enjoy it smile

If you get a Disco, get one with air suspension. The ride is unbelievably smooth.

You are in Spain, and the Spanish seem to care much, much less about car image than the Brits. Being a Brit ( I assume), and driving a conspicuously expensive British car will have a certain cachet. Possibly not the one you are after?

Disco looks better than the RR and costs less - what's too lose??

Jeep Grand Cherokee pretty funky some nice V8's too. But the Disco is better.

Toyota FJ Cruiser, very rare and import, but way cooler than a Disco and looks fab.

Depends in the image you want to put over to the locals, really.

If you want to stand out from them as a brash foreigner, then a newish Disco or Rangie works.

If you want to blend in and essentially disappear / become one of them.... Old Landy 110 or, even better, an Umm.

There's something wrong with me.... Currently enjoying some late summer sun in Portugal and realty, really want an Umm.

I was going to suggest similar to the post above, i.e. Have you considered an RS4?

Quick, practical, lovely interior, big boot. Perfect choice.

Or perhaps a slight change, and get an M3 convertible. Nicer handling, another lovely engine, and roof down pleasure.

I've no clue about Spanish culture. But in the UK LR's are either agricultural, which is the intent (110), Burbury (RR Sport) or snooty (proper RR) All very capable but horrendous reliability issues - even LR admitted the Disco 2 reliability was disappointing.
