Bable fish was no help, so could you please explain what you’re suggesting in English?

You want to try Babel Fish instead then.

What the chap is saying is - would a shoot out of cheap, modified cars Vs expensive/supercars be interesting?
I think this sort of thing takes place at events like Ten of the Best but I think they're more drag strip based.

Cheers,
Rob

Mixing with poor people......One really does not think that would be appropriate I'm afraid.

Just kidding smile . Sounds like a good idea. Would Santa Pod be a suitable venue?

Two categories - <£5k all in and as much modification as you want vs. >£30k and boggo.

Trouble is, half the 'old stters' that turned up would be Sierra Cosworths, R32 Skylines and Supras that have all had £1k a month poured into them for the last 5 years, making them cost about the same as the 911s and Ferraris.

How rude, I can't see anything there to warrant such a response? If you haven't got anything nice to say...

Grow up.

Or are you really so stupid that you couldn't understand what he is saying? If so I apologise.

well i was thinking the closest to the middle of the country so its fair on evryone? my geographical skills arent up to date so could`nt tell you where would be best guys, i was at a vw show last year and seen a 600bhp+ mk1 golf go against a noble ( at least i think it was a noble ) and it was brilliant !! i just think more of this would be a good day out for people ? the races/drags would be between cars that are as far away as possible via price range, yet as close as possible as far as stats go

...

let me know if you didnt understand that, im a 21 year old geordie so my english isnt at a cambridge level biggrin

My case in point- a 600hp golf probably cost as much to build as a £50k Noble. But I like the sentiment.

As mentioned, RWYB is as close as you are going to get unless one of the modifying mags organises an event. There aren't many super car owners who would get excited at the prospect of racing against a boy racer and possibly being shown up by a 90s family soon.

So basically what you're saying is that you'd like to feel a bit better about not being able to afford a 911 Turbo by taking along a highly modified 200SX and proving that it's quicker in a straight line? wink

Maybe people with supercars couldn't give a toss whether a Pulsar with it's wastegate closed could beat their car or not. I don't consider my car to be a supercar, but I enjoy it's performance. However, I do everything I can to avoid modified cars, be it while driving or in a supermarket car park. If someone called Wayne in his Saxo wants to believe he's beaten me off the lights then he's welcome to it.

Good for you. Sounds like Wayne did beat you off the line though....

Rob.

Pretty sure he was saying he prefers home built modified cars to off the peg performance cars actually. If it makes you feel like a big man to patronise someone who you *think* is intellectually worse off than yourself though then fair play, hope it makes you feel good.

Cheers,
Rob.
