Help with golf m4 cd changer and sound system

Was wondering if a new cd player was fitted to my mk4 golf, would the standard 6cd changer connect up to it? and how hard would it be? im changing the speaker system and need a sub output which isnt on the standard golf radio so looking into buying another cd player, but dont want to lose the changer.
