My ideal Epic car movie would include.....

Continuity. Have alook at movies like "Cannonball" to see cars constantly mutating from wrecked to miraculously repaired. In this one, a green Mustang's front bumper manages to repair itself repeatedly.

My ideal film would feature an innocuous sleeper with about 1200hp driven by a naked chick (obviously as homage to Vanishing Point...)shutting down trendy playboys.

Robert De Niro living life a quarter of a mile at a time whilst working for some dodgy Irish terrorists in his 10 second S8

There could be a sequel where he would swap it for the last of the V8s (with actually working supercharger), installed in a 405 with lots of wings and spoilers and race around Paris, preferably early in the morning.

In the final of the trilogy, he's in the states, driving across the desert. There's drug-addled bikers, muscle cars and a final scene in which he drives into the grand canyon whilst narrowly avoiding crashing into a bulldozer.

Sounds like a top set of films to me.

Can we get Michael Mann to direct? One of my favourite "car chase" / "pursuit" scenes is the scene in Heat where Pacino gets out of the helicopter to chase down de Niro on the freeway to have a coffee. A great scene, filmed in typical Mann OTT style, and scored with an epic Moby track
