Hi pretty new to here, and basically i'm looking at investing into a new motor. I'm only 18 and I've already found that vauxhalls were quite boring and common for people my age however my 1.8 sxi astra was a wuickish car and didnt struggle with the weekly commute I just found it too "chavvy". I had an Audi A3 1.8T (8L) and loved it the car was perfect, handled well and was quick when I needed it to be however all good things come to an end, I couldnt justify the £3000 insurance or the fuel economy I was seeing. I've had a few cars and dabbled in the euro scene with a mk4 golf and to be honest I should never had got rid of her. Ideally after something euro no jap crap!! Just some suggestions really on what people think would be ideal. I drive about 1200 Miles a month regurlaly do runs home from Edinburgh at 250 miles one way so some fuel economy would be nice, occasionally take pals to college so a bit of room would be nice as I also move stuff about from my mums to where I stop. At the minute ive got my sisters punto and I need to rekindle my love for driving. Any suggestions accepted!

What budget? Around 15,000 miles a year the diesel suggestion is probably a good one.
MK4 Golf or Focus TDCi perhaps.
