'Tis a shame. I've always had a soft spot for 70's and 80's Renaults.

I was close to buying a Renault 11 back in my student days. Glad I didn't, it seemed a running joke amongst the family & friends that whenever we saw a car on fire on the motorway, it was either going to be a Renault 5 or 11. Invariably it seemed to be the 11. They like killing themselves with fire, or so it seemed at the time.

oddly it does look quite cool but if you saw a picture of a basic model they look terrible, not as bad as a 9 though, a small ugly 3 box saloon.

Me too...

I seem to remember the TV ad being quiet cool- the car driving through a cityscape at dusk, with the headlights on. If I wasn't in a Youtube free zone I'd look for it.

It is probably pretty rubbish, but in a old school way very very cool. I quite liked Renault 11s my dad brought home a 1.7TXE one day and it broke the next.
