Grand cherokee

Been looking at 4.0l petrol/LPG ones age around 1998-2000 wanting to spend 2.5k max . I do around 5k a year i need a big car for towing and the space for my bike.I wont be doing much Offroading just the odd track and up north in the snow but thats about it.

These look like good big comfortable cars, So what can you tell me about them well built or not? cheers in advance.

If you don't do much off roading and need a car that's good for towing and big enough to carry a bike in the back; what's wrong with an estate? More econimical, cheaper to insure, tax, service, cheaper tyres and faster as well. £2000 would get a decent BMW E36 facelift 328 touring for example.

With the added bonus that if you buy a Jeep you will look like a pilock.

I do less than 5k a year so not bothered about running costs to much if it does 25-30mpg that is fine and it should do that on LPG. I have a volvo just now but looking at a bigger boat a Car wont tow it due to weight ect and it would not be good in scottish single track roads that dont see grit for days.

Practical reasons, thought you'd gone for the brooke bank option.

Cherokee's aren't a lot of good in the snow and slush and BMW's are useless. Range Rover TD?

Similar MPG and you can run it on chip fat.

My Cherokee and GC had no trouble at all with months of Ontario's snow and slush.

Rot box's been looking at them but they are getting on a bit now and not very well built later cars have that air suspension which can be costly WHEN it fails. I dont see how the jeep can be bad in the snow its 4wd have you tried one in the snow?
