I'm looking for a GTI Ed30 and these came up too. Stunned.
ISTR a chap on here posting up a new spec of a Golf GTI (non-R) that came to the think end of £40k.
Which is what E36 and 46 M3s used to go for (pre-options) once upon a time, but they're nigh-on £60k once youve ticked a few choice boxes now.
Astonishing, but a case of money being worth less over time at least as much as price- and feature-creep I think.

All cheaper than that Golf, and in 6 months time will be worth considerably more.
The Golf R is 'overpriced', but it's a limited edition and many car companies do the same. What does £44k buy you in a DBS over a DB9?
The GTI is a fairer comparison: the Mk6 GTI is only £400 more expensive than a Focus ST. On that basis alone it's very good value compared to the old thirsty Ford.
Volkswagen are doing rather well at the moment. The workers are doing extra shifts in Germany and are struggling to keep up with demand (I heard this on the radio, so no link.) At the end of the day Volkswagen are a business and can charge what they like for their cars. They only have to keep their shareholders happy.

king obscene.I dont care if they are "struggling to keep up with demand" and "are doing rather well".
They are taking the piss. IMO.
