Car's keyed :(

Night before last, both our car's had been keyed. Only just bought the L200 but have had the freelander a while. The right side of the back cab on the L200 has a deep white straight scratch all the way along the crease and the freelander has a wobbly, not so deep scratch along the left side at the back. It seems as though these w
kers have walked inbetween the cars in the car park, held two keys in either hand and scratched away! Reported it to the police, police have dusted it for finger prints but found nothing. (not surprising really), now they are going around the estate and questioning neighbors.
This is not the first time this has happened, about a year back the whole car park got either smashed windscreens, tyres done or paintwork keyed everywhere. We were lucky last time, the freelander was left alone but the corsa's windscreen had been smashed.
Im really quite worried as we are probably going to dish out a fair bit of cash to get these fixed and it's just gonna happen again.
The area used to be great, could leave the door open without worrying at all, but ever since the house next to us was made into a benifit den there's been all sorts happening -theft, vandalism, abuse, drugs...!! Driving us all fking mental!
Can anyone suggest what we should do? We are even considering moving. Also, does anyone know how to get a deep scratch out without spending an arm and a leg?!

Bingo. The number of people who post about problem neighbours or vandalism, etc and then mention that the situation has been going on for months/years is crazy.
Rather than worrying, getting stressed or living in fear; just move somewhere more pleasant!

holes out?! would it be worth renting a garage?
No point getting the scratches fixed to have it done again and again and again.
Sound bad though
i would be half tempted to get a £200 stter to park outside and use for shopping etc and rent a garage somewhere to keep the decent stuff if cars are routinely being vandalised.
Could the car park users chip in for a CCTV setup? Probably wont deter the scum but might get an asbo/curfew enforced on them if they get caught enough?

They already have an asbo! Garage is a brill idea tho. Thanks for that one No point getting the scratches fixed to have it done again and again and again.

We mentioned this to the police but they told us its not aloud as it is invading other peoples privacy! What a load of bull! If there are several disgruntled neighbours and 1 likely source of the problems, could you not rig up some CCTV somewhere for a while, make it very obvious it's happening - but if they're thick skinned/skulled then you catch the scumbags on camera and have them removed from the area?

1. Move location.
2. Camera inside the car, looking out. Difficult to determine which direction to point it and expensive to set up a multi-camera system. Some, like the RoadHawk (useful for all sort of other occasions) could be left pointing straight ahead. At least if someone scratched the car whilst walking past, they are likely to walk into frame at some point.
3. Intimidate the nasty neighbours.
But, I have to say, the fact that the police are visiting people in the area asking questions and dusted for prints seems out of character compared with the response many on here complain about.
You have my sympathies. My Mom hasn't much money but managed to buy herself a nearly new car with the money left to her when Dad died, and she found out todat some st has bumped it while it was in a car park.
