Has anyone got experience of using "Tetraboost" which claims to be a lead additive (not substitute) that turns your unleaded into good old leaded 3-4-5 star depending on quantity and octane of petrol already in your tank ?

If it does the job I will use it because my 1969 Chevy Corvette has the HiPo 350HP engine which runs 11:1 compression ratio and can pink unless I use Optimax. Also of course valves are lubricated etc although I have hardened valve seats in my iron heads now.

Any assistance welcome

I used to use it in my 1949 Bentley MKVI (God, I miss that car). The thing I liked about it was that it isnt a lead substitute like the others, it IS REAL LEAD. Also you can increase the octane by upping the ratio added to the tank, I used to over egg it no end when sprinting. I still put a good dose of it in the Turbo R for sprints which runs unleaded anyway, I dont need the lead, I just like the octane hop up.

Lead free at the moment (CAR-WISE!), but in the past have used the castrol valvemaster plus (which is booster as well) and never had a problem.

Duffman has entered the building.

What a great car. I saw a whole bunch of classic American motors parked up on Sunday night and a horrible feeling of insignificance swept over me. Awesome machines.

Isn't Leaded slowly but surely falling off all forecourts. I thought that the one company that still makes it was going to stop.

Well, I'm gonna git me 'o that, then !
Thanks Balmoral Green

I thought that very old Bentleys could run unleaded quite happily though, having tough heads? Or is that only pre-war Cricklewood cars?
