Are they rare? I saw one for the first time today (E92). I've seen E36 M3 saloons, but never any E46 or E92.

The E90 M3 came along later - 2009? So there are less about than the E92.

You saw a 4 door BMW with an M kit on it I suspect!

The Proper M3's had totally different rear wings IIRC, never any 4 door variants!!

There are no 4 door E92s there are however 4door E90 M3s

E90 = Saloon
E91 = Touring (n/a as M3)
E92 = Coupe
E93 = Convertible

Hope this clears things up, gets rather annoying (for me anyhow) when the saloon is referred to as an E92

Did it commit suicide because you put those headlights on it?

Why are the E90 M3s so rare anyway? I really like them and IMO the rarity gives them more class than the E92 M3 which is fairly common.

I assume because you either have a coupe or a saloon, and those who go for saloons tend to go for the M5.

I don't really see the point in the E92. It seems to have significant disadvantages over the saloon and estate and few, if any, advantages. It doesn't even look better, which is the usual point of a coupe.
