Rover 25 radio code

Is there a cheap way of getting a radio code for a R770 phillips car stereo?

Replaced battery on partners car, not realising this would activate the code on the radio, unfortunately the code wasn't passed onto us when we bought the car 3 years ago.

Serial number RG594FY1138022 from a year 2000 Rover 25.

Have tried some of the free forums, but they can only get codes which are pre 1999.

Try your local Rover dealer. Oh, hang on.

Don't worry about it, you'll not be able to get insurance at next renewal anyway, so the car will be scrap.
