Driving (as you do) along a NSL B road, and within a set of sweeping S bends is a junction for the tip, and waiting there is this newish estate car. I wasn't hanging around, but not pushing it, 50mph I'd say. Now there is decent visibility along this stretch of road, even in this S bend, and I watch him look left, then right (in my direction) then he decides to pull out (turning right, heading the direction I came from).
I heavily apply the brakes as his car sweeps across infront of me. My face is of utter astonishment as I quickly slow to 10/20mph. As he accelerates, he makes an angry face at me shouting "slow down!". I'm in disbelief but don't do anything in return.
I'm just completely lost as to what posseses peoples driving nowadays. I'm aware I could have cut my speed more for the bends, but there is more than enough visability for several seconds to make a sound judgement regarding joining the main road. What also fails me is the attitude of people. Care free, unresponsible, unthoughtful frogspawn.

I'm sure someone will be along with 'welcome to the result of 15 years of socialist oppression' or other socio-political orientated drivelling on type answer centred around the masses being brainwashed into thinking speed kills coupled with your car looking fast, but I always find it best to try not to think through these things too much - it's just a classic case of someone being a c nt.

Was this by any chance an audi or bmw?

I had a simialr problem when i was riding my 125 (with L plates) people just didnt seem to realise i was there/how much speed i was carrying. I'va had a few that sound very similar to yours, they look and *see* me and yet still think, "f
k it" then keep checking thier mirrors when i end up right up in them! Yes i know its not quite the same seeing as how your in a car and im on a bike but i think the point is still the same...bunch of ignorant

I wonder why this is so much the case in the UK, it's nothing like that in europe. If you have a nice car over their, its respected and appreciated. Where as here, you get people keying your car at any opportunity. When you're a little kid, you admire a ferrari driving past, yet when you're older its almost ruined your day.
you deserve to be hated.I pulled onto a large roundabout the other day, and began to build up speed to take the second left onto the motorway. I see a Punto waiting to pull out of the first left, so I cover my brake a bit.
She waits until I'm about 20 yards away and just pulls out right in front of me. I slam on the anchors and the horn.
What does she do? Gives me the finger in her rear view.
I will never, ever understand the mentality of some people.

Some people will automatically give the finger when you beep the horn, thinking "what is that tosser's problem?". Reason being, as has been said here, is that nothing is their fault. She waits until I'm about 20 yards away and just pulls out right in front of me. I slam on the anchors and the horn.

I'm 22, and have only been driving for 4 years, but what I have learned is this:
Do not try and understand as to why non-petrolheads, or people who don't care about driving, drive like they do, because as somoneone with sense you will be simply unable to comprehend their thought process or reaction.
Trust me. I've been trying to understand them for 4 years, I've given up. Now I just laugh when they do something retarded and have a go at me.
