Today I attended a "Ladies Driving Challenge" at Farnborough, a charity event ( for the Fire Service Charity) where ladies get sponsored to drive all sorts of unsual vehicles - lots to choose from: HGV, fuel tanker, 2x buses, crane, tow truck, Snatch LR, Chevy pickup, hovercraft, many fire engines, various BMWs, plus ride-along in a Caterham 7, Cooper S, a sidecar-motorcross thing etc....

Anyway, it seems somebody didn't get their certificate :/ Apparently this fire engine is privately owned and loaned for the day... there were lots of Hampshire engines, I think this was the only private one!

Yes, I should add that it was hidden over the back for most of the afternoon, this was it being driven back right at the end.

The title was a little inflammatory, there must have been several hundred participants and only two crashes (I didn't hear the detail of the other).

The Caterham (a ride-along) was being driven by a lady for part of the day, she was a very spirited driver indeed smile

Well quite.

Despite the name (seen me on track?) I've been round a sprint course faster in a Saab 93 than many have in Elises.

:-)
