A question about locks and bent keys..

Well it's 5:30AM, and I am locked out of my flat. Upon inspection it appears my key is slightly bent.

The key will only turn about 10 degrees each way, I'm guessing because the key is slightly out of shape. How much chance is there that I've buggered up the lock trying to wiggle the key around?

I'm hoping if I get a new key then I can get in. This is the last thing I wanted at this time. Looks like it's going to be another sleepless night for me.. hooray.

"badluck" is a nickname I acquired back in Feb 2009.
It all started when I had a blowout in a car I had owned for 3 days and wrote it off.
Since then I have been plagued with various experiences resulting in loss of my property, damage, breaking down in the middle of nowhere etc.
It wasn't too long ago my E30 was given a nice going over with some paintstripper by a mad-max wannabe chav moped gang. I only tell this delightful tale because it is 6AM and there is not much else you can do in a corridor.

If those plasterers happened to come by I would at least have a good use for my toolbox I have with me. Right now it's just acting as a really st pillow.

Toolboxes often contain hammers. Can't you use one of them to straighten the bent (hey Sue!) key?

It hasn't worked, all I've done is ruin a small part of the floor. The quest goes on..

Have you left the back door open?
or maybe the plasterers are inside and have changed the locks..
