I've just had a garage replace the front two tyres, but forgot to ask them to adjust the tracking (it was way off to the left).

Do garages normally do the tracking when they fit tyres or is it usually only by request?

It's not done as standard. You'll almost certainly need to pay extra for it. And some backstreet places don't have the kit.

Not done as a matter of course when fitting tyres.

Offering to do tracking while the tyres are being fitted is just up-selling.

Did you know your brakes are worn out too?

Were your tyres unevenly worn or just low on tread? If not worn in manner which suggested your alignment was out, then I shouldn't worry about it.

sounds like the car is pulling to the left. may well be something else but tracking.

Oh yeah....cheers, I just saw that. In which case (if the car was pulling to the left and not just the steering wheel off centre) then get it done before you end up sticking another set of tyres on before you know it.
