Need some advice on this please.

I bought a car 65 mile from where i live from a dealer at the weekend. Halfway home it loses all it grunt. So I rang the RAC who came and said it was either the Lambda sensor or the cat that was at fault but was ok to drive home.

I rang the dealer back and he said to take it home, get it fixed and he would pay. So I set off to head home when clouds of smoke start billowing out of the back.

I pulled over as there was no way it was going to make it home. I rang the dealer again and he said if i got the car back to him before 4.30 he would refund me in full for the car. It was far too late to do that so i told him i would be down first thing tuesday morning with the car. The conversation did get quite heated at one point.

Obviously i dont want the car anymore and it is costing £80 to get it down there again.

I will probably be at his premises before he is in the morning. What can i do if he starts being awkward and starts refusing to give me a refund?

I was thinking of unloading the car over his gates and blocking access to his pitch until he does refund me.

Any advice welcome. Thanks

Sales of goods act. If the item sold isn't fit for purpose you can get your money back. All dealers have this, happened to me with the first ZR.

I want to make sure i get the refund there and then. It will be a pain if i have to take any more time off work to go down there again.

I would confirm the conversation politely by Email / letter.

Then be firm but polite when returning the car.

Back anyone into a corner and they come out fighting.
