Just seen on Twitter that the GTO is being picked up today to be shipped back to the factory for a complete restoration which is going to take 18 months.

I dread to think what the price of that is going to be but at least it should be perfect when its finished.

Oh and its staying red.

Curious.

Nice fanciful dreams generally involve sunshine, big boats, champagne, charlie and supermodels with little clothing and less morality.

Buying an old Italian car, sending it halfway across Europe to be without it for 18 months, for it to be shipped back with a six figure invoice not so much.

But he's done both!

Taht may be your dream. To him, maybe his dream is to collect a "new" 250 GTO from the factory, built to his specification. Just like the owner would have done in 1964.

If that is his dream, then this is the closest he'll ever get to that dream.

Is that right?

Fair enough.

Could you tell me what I fancy for dinner? I'm not entirely sure you see.

Have prawns to start with, followed by fillet steak with plenty of mustard, then have fruit for dessert.

Anything else, just let me know mate.

18months?!?! Wowser! Something we'd all do if we had the chance though! Surprised he's not had a bit more use out of it before making it perfect though, if you see what I mean?! Mind you, the bugger has been using it, so that's my sentence pretty well nulled.

There's no point pissing on someone's bonfire.

Justifying that Chris Evans life sucks because he is considerably richer than yow and everyone else on here just makes you look the plum.

Having worked with the guy for about 3 years for things that he cares about he's nothing short of a perfectionist. So it's no real shock to hear that he's doing it. If I had the money it's certainly something I'd consider doing. I'm sure he's got enough toys to keep him amused for the 18 months it will take to restore it though!!

But he's done both!
He's also done Billie Piper, and thus has ruined her from my perspective.
