I was on my way home on the M11 north today (14.45). I was overtaking in lane 2 and there one of those Suzuki Carry type vans in lane 3. The traffic was getting a bit heavy and slow and the little van was indicating to pull into lane 2 and undertake lane 3 when all of a sudden he locked up and shunted a Renault Megane up the ass.

Anyway nothing abnormal there I thought and I carried as it didn't seem too bad a shunt, that is untill I saw the Suzuki Carry flying down the hard shoulder followed by an irate bird in the Megane!

They both went down the sliproad towards Loughton, if I had been in lane 1 I would have blocked him off. That got me wondering what he was hiding by not stopping, Banned, no insurance, wanted by the BiB? There are some crazy bds out there, I just hope she caught up with the git and got his details.

Shocking, but seems to happen a lot these days, hopefully the megane was on the phone to the BIB at the time and they got him.

Its the silly season again....The nights drawing in seems to cause carnage on the roads.

Might be worth reporting what you saw in case she didn't catch him and reported his reg/description later.

I always thought it was a bit pathetic, but i must admit with all the tomfoolery on the roads lately im seriously considering getting a cheap digicam/dashcam thing to record journeys whenever im out and about.

Particularly now those gangs that crash into you for insurance fraud that operate in Bradford etc are now apparently heading south.

It's probably only a matter of time before you find this as an option on new vehicles. A sort of 'flight recorder' for cars.

You might be interested in a Road Hawk.

I'll be keeping an eye on future episodes of Police Interceptor for this one. That seems to be their stamping ground and no doubt we'd see Pat and Carl (yes, yes, I know they're from the other one) or Bodie and Doyle or whatever they're called actually catch up with and arrest the transgressor to later be told that the CPS dropped the case due to lack of evidence!
