The one VW have got on at the moment, where it ends with 'Why drive something like a Golf when you can drive a Golf?' Merits of VW's ubiquitous hatch etc... But the bit where the guy driving says 'Handles just like a Golf', is he not in a 1 Series? which wouldn't handle like a Golf by virtue of it being rwd!! Sorry, rant over, anyone know of any other howlers?

My Mk III Golf is a howler - always something falling to bits and the rust is quite amazing.

I think he's in a Civic when he speaks, but then the car handbraking is a 1 series. Sorry to be a big anorakish .

I don't like this advert. What's so good about a fking Golf anyway?

At 15 seconds in on that advert they say like a Golf when it appears to be an actual Golf!

never realized how much of an anorak I was until i saw this advert. the car he's in is a civic, but when you see the outside shot, its actually a 1series. the guys in the garage are clearly all bending over a max power'd golf mk3. The only thing that really REALLY bugs me is the salesman, I can't tell what car that is from the A pillar.

The modified car is a mk3 Fiesta, stop saying it's a Golf.

I think the salesman is shutting the door of a Vectra B.

ETA: Not a Vectra, just watched the Video. I have no idea.

Party? I know not of this word. As a student, all I do is watch car adverts and complain about them inbetween reading about American Foreign Policy. Really, I'm not that nerdy, I just thought it might be a point worth raising on PH!

Its not so much that its good at one thing, it just does everything well, and is by far the best all-rounder in the class.

Is that a civic type-R (ep3) wing on the back? Love the gap where there should be an intercooler or something poking through and its just empty hehe

I may be wrong, and I'm happy to be corrected on this, but I thought the 1 Series were Front wheel drive? I know all BM's are RWD, but I seem to recall a big hoo-ha (<who says that nowadays?!) about the fact that the 'new' 1 series would be FWD?
