Cheapest car with a full mot ?.

Hi all.

Just wondering what's the cheapest car with a full ticket you can find or have had the pleasure of owning ?.

I'm on the look out for a bargain and it has to be cheap and have 5 seat belts also with a full mot.

I'm not bothered by anything as long as it's legal and works.

some of the independent dealers can offer you a year MOT and service, try haggle with them.

just because its got an MoT doesn't mean its safe or roadworthy- I recently sold an old escort on gumtree for £200 which had a full years ticket, but the brakes were shockingly dangerous (as declared in the advert)....so beware what you buy.....

Picked up an e190 with 11 months ticket in immaculate condition for the OH for £675 the other month. The cheapest i know of anyone owning is my mechanic's £70 '96 Citreon ZX, it came with a full MOT, set of spare tyres and less than 40k on the clock.

I bought a Scirocco for 150 quid (not the new one)

I bought a Granada 2.8 for 185 quid.

All MOT'd.

It only lasted about 15 miles. Corking buy in my yoofful ingnorance.

When I was at uni I bought my old Peugeot 309 for £150 plus the cost of an MOT (about £30 or so). I put it through the MOT before I agreed to buy it as it had been off the road for over a year.

It turned out to be a good solid (if very basic) car and I ended up keeping it for over 2 years.

£93 for a 1985 mk2 golf gti, well, it was about 10 mths mot if that counts, and about 5 mths tax. This was about 5 yrs ago.

It's more tricky to do now as scrap metal prices are higher, but 7-8 years ago I bought-
£15 Fiat panda
£30 Peugeot 405sri (with a boot full of RANK porn)
£50 mk2 golf (didn't last long)
£250 Mk2 golf synchro 4x4 (didn't last long)

They all had at least 8 months MOT so might not strictly count.

A mate of mine got an XR3i convertible for £350 we took it to Classic LeMans this year, roof down all the way, didn't miss a beat. Not sure if it will make an appearance to next years LeMans or we might take something else.

I paid £80 for a 95 Escort derv estate last yeah with 197k on the clock. Full mot and was fine right up until the n/s/r flexi hose burst on the motorway. New hose and was good for another 4 months

I knew this. I sold it to a friend for £20 under the agreement that he wouldn't scrap it until AT LEAST when the MOT was up. He still has it now, never put a foot wrong with only minor servicing and a set of new front pads.

Apparently people are still offended by it when they're overtaken by it on dual carriageways and motorways.
