Has anyone been on the AMG SLS Experience at Mercedes World at Brooklands?

Was it worth the money?

I can't afford the £1000+ day, but I could probably stretch to the £290 50 mins in an AMG Merc + 5 laps in the SLS.

I really like the look and concept of the SLS, but it's still a wedge of cash to blow on an hour's entertainment, so I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's actually done it.

BTW I know there are loads of other, probably better value, track experiences, but I'm specifically interested in first hand experiences of the SLS one at MB World.

Thanks.

I did the 1/2 day one back in August and whilst it was good, it wasn't £1k good! Even though its a 'half-day' experience, you only get 1 hour in the SLS and another 2 hours in anything else you like.

I got to drive an E63, an SL63 and the SLS. The SLS was obviously in another league to the other two - it felt sharp, firm, direct, very noisy and just a totally different experience to anything else I've driven - it was also noticeably faster than either of the other two or my C63 Performance Pack Plus.

However, it should be for the money it costs so I was even more impressed with the E63 which just felt great - like a better developed, more solid C63. Interestingly, it did actually feel slower than my C63 despite claiming to have 20hp more - must be the extra fat!

It's definitely worth having a drive of the SLS though - it's so different to the norm. But the 20-25 mins you get with the cheaper experience is more than enough and the half day isn't worth the extra.
