Info on s3 remap

I've recently bought a 58plate s3 and I'm having problems with it misfiring and chugging. It has been remapped by the previous owner and has a K&N air filter fitted.I was going to take it to Audi to see if they could rectify it. Would that interfere with the remapping of the car?

Has it still some warranty left? Cos Audi will laugh at you and charge you a zillion to fix a modified car with what is now an invalid warranty...

Audi will definitely not honour the warrenty.

Stab in the dark time: If the K&N filter is an oiled filter it may have contaminated the MAF sensor, causing the misfires and rough running.

I purchased the car from Audi last week and contacted the previous owner and he told me he had it remapped

Fack me, if you bought it from them last week then get it back there and rip into them about the remap.

Remove air filter, and replace with OE airbox, then have the MAF checked.

- Return car to Audi
- Request car be fixed to non chugging standard state
- Request loan car
- Rag arse off A3 1.6 or whatever they provide until S3 returned
- If S3 not returned in working order, reject asap and go elsewhere
