Best car for under £150!!
Discussion
I've set myself a little challenge and need some PH input. I've just sold one of our cars as it just sits on the driveway so the cash is better to me than a stationary car! I now need a snotter that I will keep for a couple of months. It will probably rarely get used, but still needs to be able to fire up after being stood for a couple of weeks.
I've set myself a budget of £150 as I reckon that, after a couple of months when I move back into 'proper' cars, I can take this one to the scrappy and get most, if not all of my money back (well, that's the idea!).
So, any thoughts on what I could look for?!! Any surprising bargains to be had in this price range?

This is looking like a strong contender so far. There must be some bargain metal hiding somewhere!

There is always the exception that proves the rule, but unless you have access to trade sources you will do well to find anything with tax and test for £150. Most cars have a scrap value of £80 at least, and most people know this these days.
Difficult then, but not impossible.
I bought a Corsa Diesel six months ago for £200, but it did have 5 months tax on it. Done 7000 miles in it since and it passed its MOT last week needing just a track rod end and the handbrake tightening up a touch. Does 55mpg as well, but its not very fast!

I may be wrong on this, but if dealerships take in real snotters as px and they want them shifted quick will they often sell them for ridiculous prices if they are asked? Something I've been wanting to know how to go about myself
A dealer won't sell these to Jo-public too many liability issues
