Was just thinking the other day, what's happened to the MMGW train? It all seems to have gone very quiet lately. I mean we still get the occasional "switch off your kettle adds" on telly but it's nowhere near the levels of hysteria that were being generated a year ago.

Have people decided

A) It's actually not getting warmer at all since we had a cold winter last year and predictions are for another doozy this year?

B) We have more important things to worry about at the moment like a failed economoy?

C) It's not as fashionable to talk about it anymore at dinner parties etc?

What's the consensus, still an issue or has it all been a lot of hot air over nothing.

All of the above.

Governments do not care about melting icecaps when they are on the verge of defaulting on their debts and people give less thought to recycling their cardboard when looking for a job. MMGW as good as died on its arse in Autumn 2008.
But does that mean it will rear it's ugly head again once (if?) we are out of recession? Surely after all the fuss being made about the impending doom of the planet, the environmentalists can't have let a little thing like the harsh realities of economics put them off?

I personally think they still have a long way to go to actually prove the whole global warming theory (as in 100% man made etc)

it's this kind of dumbed down political bullst that's put this country in the toilet in the first place, just look at our energy policy history and how fubared we are all now...

I still think we are going to have the lights go out in the next 10 years due to lack of power generation and infrastructure investment.

While seemingly being a big pile of horsest with no proof for the theories, it will not have gone away. If nothing else, the BBC have their bankrupt pension scheme heavily invested in carbon trading, so they'll be banging the drum for a while yet.

Still, it was funny to watch Copenhagen fail and Al 'fat little piggy eyes' Gore back out of his book signing...
